DISCLAIMER: Documents generated through Mission Guardian are legally sufficient for Minneapolis neighborhood associations. Clients assume the risk of editing generated documents. Birken Law Office cannot guarantee edits you make will result in a policy / procedure that complies with Neighborhoods 2020 requirements, state law, federal law, IRS regulations or nonprofit sector best practices.

Why should we use this agreement instead of ones we’ve used in the past?

Many neighborhood associations hire independent contractors and have used the same contract template for years. Many of the contracts I’ve looked at for neighborhoods don’t protect you. Working with contractors is a very specific legal issue, and this is a hot button area for the IRS in the past 2 years as they are looking for employer compensation issues where 1099s should’ve been re-classed as employees. Plus this is a VERY common area where disputes come up, so we really want your agreement to be rock solid legally.

Finally, the City is now requiring a written contract with all 1099 vendors and you have to have certain terms in the contract. The contract you’ll get from this wizard meets those requirements, so click that green button whenever you need to hire a 1099, every time.

Does this 1099 Contract meet N2020 requirements?

You betcha!
